If you’ve ever wanted to get rid of that flabby pooch in your lower abdomen or that annoying bulge over your bra strap, you may have found that those stubborn deposits of fat exist even when your body is at its fittest. So many men and women try to “spot reduce” with exercises that target these areas, but their efforts are in vain. While surgery with liposuction remains the most effective means to reduce areas of stubborn fat, there are risks involved, and recovery time is up to two weeks. With CoolSculpting®, a non-surgical alternative to liposuction, patients can literally freeze their fat away with no recovery or downtime and show off their results well before summer.
What Areas Does CoolSculpting® Treat?
CoolSculpting® treats most areas of the body where you can pinch at least an inch of flabby fat. These areas include the abdomen, “love handles,” thighs, beneath the chin, around the bra straps, on the back, and beneath the buttocks.
How Does CoolSculpting® Work?
The CoolSculpting® device has two flat panels that will firmly, yet painlessly, “sandwich” your fat as you lie comfortably awake. A specialized gel protects your skin as the device freezes the unwanted fat cells. This causes the cells to die, and over time, the body flushes out these dead cells so that they are gone for good. Your skin and surrounding tissues will not be harmed by the freezing technology because those cells freeze at a much colder temperature than what is used during CoolSculpting®.
How Many Treatments Do I Need?
Your CoolSculpting® treatment plan will be customized to meet your needs. You may want to reduce fat in several areas, like your lower abdomen and inner and outer thighs, which can all be done in one office visit. You will be able to see results after a few weeks with just one treatment per area, but some patients desire more of a reduction and choose to have subsequent treatments.
